The M Resort Spa Casino officially opened in 2009 and is currently owned by Penn National Gaming. It is located on S Las Vegas Blvd, roughly 10 miles from the Strip and 15 miles from Downtown Las Vegas. The entire property was built from the ground up on a vacant piece of land in Henderson, NV. When all was said and done, the M cost right around $1 billion to complete.
Due to its location, the M does not attract nearly as many tourists as some of the major resorts in Las Vegas – but the selection and quality of their games are certainly comparable. They offer a wide range of slots, video poker machines and table games along with a full sportsbook.
Over the last few years the M has become a popular destination among tourists and locals alike. They have accomplished this by offering high payouts on most games (like 3-2 blackjack, good video poker returns, etc.) and most of the amenities are reasonably priced compared to resorts in other parts of Las Vegas. In addition to gaming, they have over 92,000 square feet of event space which hosts a number of large conventions each year that draw in crowds.
Playing Slots at The M
The M has a total of 1,330 electronic gaming machines spread over 92,000 square feet of casino space. Most of these games are slot machines, but they also have a generous selection of video poker, video keno and multi-game machines. When it comes to slots, they have the most recent game titles and a large portion of their machines are modern.
Slots at the M can be found scattered around the casino floor in pockets based on the type of game, title, progressive network and other similar factors. For example, they have sections dedicated to games like Buffalo, Wheel of Fortune, Megabucks, Quick Hit and much more. This makes it easy to find whatever slot you’re looking for.
Situated several miles away from the Las Vegas Strip, the atmosphere inside the casino tends to be relatively quiet and relaxed – especially if you visit on a weekday. If you are actively playing slots (or any other game), drinks are free – but obviously it is recommended that you tip the waitress. Based on our experience, the waitresses are usually pretty fast when it comes to taking orders and bringing drinks out to the floor.
High Limit Slots at The M
The M has one high limit slots room, which is now located towards the back of the casino next to the sportsbook. It features a total of 36 slot machines and 37 video poker machines. The nice thing about their high limit room is that it’s in a quiet corner of the casino, far away from the table games and most of the lower denomination slots.
Some popular slots that you’ll find in the high limit room at M Resort are Top Dollar, Pinball, Johnny Cash and Wheel of Fortune (among others). There are machines with denominations as low as $1, which is something you don’t see very often – especially in Las Vegas. In fact, there are two $1 Top Dollar machines in the high limit room ($2 max bet) and a few other $2-$3 max bet machines.
Slot Tournaments at The M
The M Resort is known to regularly host slots tournaments. In fact, they have become so popular here that the M recently turned their old high limit room into a room that is now dedicated to slots tournaments. Most of the time, you must be a Marquee Rewards member to enter slots tournaments here. Some tournaments are available by invite-only, while some require players to register to participate.
You can find all upcoming slot tournaments and related events at The M’s website here.
Other Games at The M
Though we like to focus on slots, the M does have a wide selection of other games on offer for those who are interested. These include all the Las Vegas staples like table games, video poker and keno. When it comes to video poker and table games in particular, the M does not disappoint.
The M has a nice selection of video poker machines and many of them offer 99% or higher returns. Video Poker machines can be located in several sections around the main casino floor in addition to over 30 in the high limit slots room.
They also have two video poker bars, and we recommend playing here if you plan on drinking. Though drinks are also comped out on the main gaming floor, the service tends to be much faster directly at the bar.
If you want to take a break from playing slots, M Resort has a large selection of table games. They have a total of 40 tables featuring Blackjack, Baccarat, Craps, Roulette, High Card Flush, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em. Most of these games are located on the main casino floor across from the cashier, but you will find 4 tables in the high limit room.
A large majority of table games have low minimums (starting at $10), while the minimum in the high limit room is $50.
Player Rewards Program at The M Resort
If you plan on gambling at the M, you should seriously consider signing up for a Marquee Rewards players card. This program is used at virtually every Penn National Gaming property and rewards players with everything from comps, discounts and free slot play to entries in one of the various slot tournaments or raffles that are held regularly.
If you are enrolled in Marquee Rewards you will earn $0.01 comp dollar and 1 tier point for every $1 of coin-in while playing slots. These comps can be redeemed for at M Resort or any other casino that is owned by Penn National Gaming.
Hotel and Amenities at The M Resort Spa Casino
